The Cut
Beef bacon is a variation of traditional bacon made from beef instead of pork. It's made by curing, drying, smoking, and thinly slicing beef belly, brisket, or round. Some say beef bacon is more flavorful and premium than pork bacon, and it can be used in charcuterie.
The Preparation:
OVEN. Preheat your oven to 400° F. Place bacon on a rack set over a rimmed baking sheet, or, if you don't have that, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Also can be prepared in a saute pan and cooked to your preferred doneness.
Common Dishes:
Beef bacon can be used in the same ways that you would use pork bacon. It's delicious on sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and more. High protein, lower in fat, and full of flavor, beef bacon is an excellent addition to any menu or alternative to traditional pork bacon.
