Description

Beef heart is a muscle like other cuts of steak, but it is more dense with a higher nutrient content and additional protein. Beef heart contains all essential amino acids, zinc, selenium and phosphorus

The Preparation:

Salt the heart overnight helps to add flavor and moisture to the meat. Cut the heart in 1-1/2 inch pieces for the best results. Beef heart is best cooked rare to medium rare. Any longer and it can start to get tough. They can be cooked on the grill instead of the skillet if you prefer. Same amount of time and temperature. 

Recommended spices:

Salt and Pepper. Any of your favorite spice blends. Butter garlic and herbs would be a great addition!
